Bespoke commission for Sir John Eliot Gardiner

This unfretted clavichord is based on an instrument which has been attributed to Johann Heinrich Silbermann, the nephew of the famous organ-builder Gottfried Silbermann.

It was built for the conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner and includes oak (case) and lime (keyboard) from his estate in Dorset, England.

The instrument is tuned to a=415Hz.

Its dimensions are 160mm high, 1370mm wide & 500mm deep.
