About Jennings Organs

Scroll down to find out about Robin Jennings, his workshop and collaborators

The Maker

Robin Jennings

Following training at The London College of Furniture where he studied Early Stringed Keyboard Instrument making and the London Organ Builders N.P. Mander Ltd, Robin has had his own business since 1989.  He is married, with 2 children.

He has become one of the few makers in Europe specialising in custom built chamber organs and is currently based in Dorset, England.

The instruments illustrated on this website were all made to individual specifications and are shown as examples of recent work.

Robin is always pleased to discuss particular requirements for instruments ranging from one stop continuo to large house organs.

Various instruments are available for hire including continuo organs, harpsichords and an ‘authentic’ keyed glockenspiel (see other instruments).

The Workshop

Situated on Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s organic farm on the top of Cranborne Chase in Dorset, England, the workshop was converted in 1996.  Originally built as a turnery in the 1950’s, it provides an ideal rural environment.  Jennings Organs uses a small amount of timber from the estate which is dried in a solar kiln next to the workshop
